We will close this section with an interesting note. Reading the specifications of a heat transfer machine does not always tell the whole story about its dependability. As an example, HIX recently ran a comparison test between their HT-400 and that of a well-known competitor. They tested one simple operation: opening and closing the heat press. They rigged up an electrical piston with a counter, to open and close both machines simultaneously. The arm on the competitor's machine broke after about 140,000 repetitions. They finally stopped the test after 250,000 repetitions on the HIX HT-400.
