The auto-open feature is great if your pressings requires so much time that you could much more profitably spend it doing something else instead of watching the press

Because the press auto-opens you don’t get as tired on long shirt runs and can be a real blessing for those who are not 100% in their arms and shoulders. This is because there is usually more stress in your limbs when pulling (opening) than there is in pushing (closing).

The manual latch system allows more pressure to be used. This is important on some hot-split transfers, especially puff-prints.

The press has an easy manual release, if you need to open it before the end of the pressing cycle (it still auto-opens).

The tilting lower platen keeps closing pressure equal and provides the added benefit of being elevated about 1” from the bottom of the press. This makes it the easiest of all manual presses to press both sides. Simply pull the shirt onto the bottom, press, pull it off and then reverse it, to press the other side.

The optional (and quick change) 15x15 lower platen could be very useful when a smaller size is needed.

The HIX warranty is second to none but the most important fact is how very few times anyone needs to use the warranty. In our retail days we ran our old HIX 15+ years and only had to replace the thermostat once!
